A little bit of southern in your own back yard! I never went to the old Manny's & I'm sure not impressed w/ their new location. But, thank goodness they got a bee in their bonnet & left the hive so I could check out the new queen bee in town. Frisco City Grill is not the most aesthectially pleasing place to drive up to & when we did I was sort of wishing I didn't offer it as a suggestion to my company that night.

Be prepared to feel like you're in some kind of run-down bar in the middle of no-where (this is after all their rennovations). Are we there for Poker or dinner? Naturally it could have been fun to gamble our odds at being able to off-set the check but we chose to be seated in the dining area. Table dirty & bench too heavy to move into position, we had to ask for our area to be cleaned. Server was apolgetic & said the bus-boy had quit that day. I wonder why? My date was served his wine in a glass that not only had a visible film on the outside but also you could feel it. Of course they switched it out.

So, let's put the negative aside & talk about how AWESOME the food REALLY is! I wouldn't have believed it but I'm still impressed a day later. I was hell-bent on the quesadilla and an old acquantaince working there suggested I get it with Brie. Boy was it ever delish! Their guacamole has a spicy kick, their chipotle ranch is thick & creamy & their regular ranch is outstanding (all made in house). We also orderd the baby ribs & they are in the top 3 ranks for the best ribs I've ever had. The meat just fell off the bone & I ate it with a fork. For dessert we wanted to try to the Wiskey Bread Pudding but were talked into the Carrot Cake, the owner's specialty. It has nuts in it so I was vehemently opposed to trying it. Well, my mom better watch out because she just got knocked off the totem pole for having the best Carrot Cake in the world. I would never believe it possible but this 3 layer manna from heaven will leave you wanting to scrape the plate with your fingers!!!
