Southern Hospitality
Southern Hospitality opened in February 2013 in the St. Elmo Hotel in historic Denver. This is the first franchised location outside of New York, backed by Justin Timberlake. The Denver location is co-owned by Ryan Tedder from the Colorado band, One Republic. The building was also formerly a law firm, the transformation from hotel to law firm to restaurant was well done, as the restaurant sits on two levels, with a bar on each level.
The menu at Southern Hospitality is appetizing, offering a Southern variety for all to enjoy. We visited Southern Hospitality during Denver Restaurant Week, where a special menu was offered to encourage locals to try different restaurants at a fixed price of $52.80 per couple or $26.40 per person. The service was extraordinary considering that they just opened during the previous week. The server was well versed on the menu, was friendly and attentive to all of our wants/needs.
The cocktail menu lists a variety of libations for all tastes, including 60-70 featured bourbons and bourbon flights. For starters, our party of four enjoyed the cheddar hush puppies and the fried pickles. For dinner entrees, our party tried the prime rib, pork ribs and brisket platters. All of the meals were cooked appropriately and would be ordered again in the future. For dessert we tried the banana pudding, Grandma's bourbon pecan pie and the double chocolate shake. We all agreed that we would return to Southern Hospitality for a future meal or to try out the happy hour specials.
