During another visit in 2014 saw 2 Planetarium shows: Water Is Life and Centered in the Universe. The same guy narrated both shows and was entertaining. The Centered show was better and got into interesting topics like the nature of the universe. Both shows briefly identified star constellations.

How dare you disrespect the grizzled prospectors to which the great town of Leadville is indebted! They were giants of their era, and your ignorance and insensitivity is an insult to the Blitzquest creed. Do us a favor and return to your dull flatlanding existence.

Makes me want to visit!

The whale sightings are best between the middle of December and early March when the Gray whales are making their migrations to Mexico to mate. I have seen as many as 30 whales at a time making their passage.

Attacking Sherman with 1/3 of the number of men Sherman had during the last weeks of the war indicates dedication or perhaps insanity.

I enjoyed it. It was a good way to experience art.

You may want to visit the nearby Victory Center, especially if you have kids. The staff gives great demonstrations with surgical instruments of the time, and canon and musket firings. The village shows the importation of crops like flax, and methods used on 18th century agriculture.

My kids loved this place. However, it is very helpful to watch a PBS or National Geographic program about Jamestowne before you visit.

Bloody pond is also meaningful to children when a parent or guide gives a gruesome description of how it looked.

Some development in the area detracts from the feeling of the battlefield, but you can get a good idea of the casualties at the stone wall.

This is a good review of the battlefield and park. Lookout Mountain is a good place to visit because of the views of the area, but it does not add a great deal of understanding to the action of the battles.

Sounds like a great place to visit. I really enjoy military history so will have to check this place out one day.

Visited the battlefield again to see more of the units. The line of forts around Fort Harrison are worth seeing. They are well preserved and have informative historical signs. Also saw a smaller fort called Parker's Battery and will write a review of Drewry's Bluff, which was impressive as well.

I have visited many of the civil war battlefields, and this one is the best. The park gives you an incredible insight into the strategy and the tragedy of the battle.

Could have been more informative. Probably not the best place for kids. I like the outdoor space. They have a lot of private events (i.e. weddings) there on the weekend thoough, so keep this in mind if you go on the weekend.

The outdoor space was one of the best parts. It's quieter than you would expect for a place in the city.

Bummer that it was disappointing, it is such an interesting concept.

I may try and get there in late summer or early fall

A great time to visit is late March/early April when the cherry trees are blooming.
