Cowboys Stadium is an enclosed arena located between Dallas and Fort Worth. The stadium, which was built in 2009, is the home of the NFL Dallas Cowboys, but it’s also used for other events, such as concerts, conferences and games for other sports. The stadium VIP tour includes club areas, a private suite, the Cowboys’ and their cheerleaders’ locker rooms, a media room and extra time to walk around the field.

The $1.2 billion stadium is a building of superlatives. It can accommodate 110,000 spectators, including standing room for 30,000. The retractable roof, which takes 12 minutes to open, is the longest single-span roof in the world. There are two 180 foot glass doors on the ends of the stadium, and they are the largest such glass doors in the world. Suspended over the field is the world’s largest high definition video screen. In addition to the structural feats, the stadium has a distinctly refined quality that makes it seem more like a hotel or conference center than a raucous sports arena. Also there are multiple pieces of art which can be seen on another tour.

The organized part of the VIP tour lasts 90 minutes and can accommodate about 40 people. The best part of the tour involved highlights of the stadium, including its design, features and uses. Football fans will enjoy seeing the Cowboys locker room, walking around the field and viewing pictures of former players. The field and locker rooms also are available on the self-guided tour, but it’s worth an extra $10 for the guided VIP tour in order to see more of the stadium and to be able to talk with a knowledgeable tour guide. The VIP tour will mostly interest sports fans and to a lesser extent those interested in architecture. Tours usually are more crowded on weekends. Parking is free.
