Fair Park Music Hall is a 3,420 seat theatre built in 1925. It has a Spanish/Moorish architectural style and has been renovated several times over the years, including upgrades in 1972 and 1999. The music hall is located in Fair Park, a 277 acre entertainment and cultural area south of Dallas. The music hall is a primary Dallas venue for Broadway shows and musicals that tour nationally and also is home to Dallas Summer Musicals, a nonprofit company which produces and promotes shows and live entertainment.

A National Historic Landmark, Fair Park is home to one of the best collections of Art Deco buildings in the US. Many buildings constructed for the Texas Centennial in 1936 still stand. Better known ones include the Cotton Bowl and the Museum of Nature & Science. The park also is home to the State Fair of Texas.

The music hall is a light colored and slightly inconspicuous building. It has an amorphous shape due to expansions and renovations and is deceptively small outside but has a spacious interior and seating area. The music hall has both upstairs and downstairs seating. The upstairs seating area has skimpy legroom and is too far from the stage to provide an enjoyable experience. It is worth the extra money to sit downstairs and to be closer to the action, but it also is noisier. A music hall restaurant serves food buffet style before shows. The food is generally average. Alcoholic drinks are permitted in the theatre. Bathrooms are adequate for men, though women often face longer lines during popular shows. The theatre has a dated 1970s look, but overall is still an enjoyable venue to catch a show. Parking is either free or by valet. Note that areas nearby Fair Park are a bit sketchy, so be mindful of security when leaving park grounds.
