TruFire is one of those restaurants that's not a perfect 10 but it's a good place to go back to and I never tire of returning. They have a veried menu with a few options that lean to the more fresh and slightly gourmet side, several options offering more stable choices such as pizza and sandwiches, and then even some pretty awesome salads that would please even the heartiest appetite.

My favorite drink used to be the Blackberry Smash. It's not a scale-tipper, as none of their drinks are, save the House Martini. Now, I've tried a lot of straight up martininis and they always taste like gasoline to me. TruFire's is a nice balanced blend of Vodka and Gin (add olives or a twist of lemon). I recommend the lemon as it seems to throw in a zesty hint of citrus, softens up the bite of the alcohol and also grows more pronounced in flavor as the mighty martini ages. It has been the best drink I've tried in all the times I've gone.

Recently I had the Napa Chicken which: a half breast atop a sinfully generous portion of rice that almost flows off the plate. The chicken was so-so and a bit fatty. It doesn't say on the menu that it comes with skin and that was a huge deterrent in me finishing the chicken the next day for lunch. However, the rice was savory, rich and had a deep well-rounded flavor of garlic, probably a chicken based broth, and definitely a healthy portion of a mushroom blend that will have me ordering this plate in the future sans chicken. There was some kind of carrot coleslaw on the side which is semi-addictive. It has a pungent, tangy, and yet sweet, flavor all at the same time, with a spicy kick right off the bat as you begin your endeavor in almost licking the ramekin clean.

The sweet potato fries are good, not the best. Flatbreads appetizer = yum!
