The king sized bed had an adjustable air mattress which is a nice feature if you like a customized level of support.

The Hilton Garden Inn Houston/Galleria opened in 2005, and is a higher end hotel near the Galleria Mall. The hotel is a step up from a midrange level hotel as it offers both breakfast and dinner, has a full bar, and room service is available at night. The Garden Inn is non-smoking and with the exception of service animals, pets are not permitted.

The hotel has 8 floors and 182 rooms. There are 30 suites that offer a bit more living space than a traditional room and cost an extra $20, give or take. Room rates vary by day of the week and time of year but typically range from $120-220. While the hotel is located on a fairly busy road and Interstate 610 is a quarter of a mile away, car traffic noise inside the hotel was not a factor. There is minimal landscaping around the hotel. A parking garage is directly out back and there is a small parking area and pool out front. Overnight self-parking in the garage costs about $10, comparable to nearby hotels.

The stay here met or exceeded expectations in most aspects. Positives included a clean and quiet room. The bathroom and room heating/air conditioning all worked properly. Also, the bed had an adjustable air mattress, which was a nice plus for added comfort. Noise from nearby rooms and the hallway was minimal to nonexistent, though to be fair the hotel was fairly empty. Both the front desk staff and breakfast staff were courteous and accommodating. A couple negatives include having to prop a table against the window to keep the curtains fully closed and some small flies hovering around the fruit section of the buffet breakfast. Since fruit was off the breakfast checklist, the meal instead consisted of grilled vegetables, an omelet and a biscuit. All those items worked well together and tasted favorably, especially with some extra hot sauce. Breakfast cost only $10, a good value. A stay at this hotel was pleasing and relaxing so it would be considered favorably for a return visit.
